I didn't start out like most artists - before all the inks and colors, before all the brushes and paint and before all the glitz and glamour, I was just a kid with a ton of anxiety. I doodled through out my entire school career. My calculus book might as well have been a sketchbook - an expensive one at that. So much so that even my dad recommended I buy a real sketchbook instead of ruining my text books - I didn’t have painterly dreams of becoming the next Picasso - I just doodled so I can find a little peace in a world that I couldn’t metabolize. My doodling gave way to a successful design career and eventually I realized that I could just draw for the love of it. Somewhere along the way, painting also helped me heal from the anxiety that I used to mask with the act of creating. My work went from a whimsical practice to a mystical one. It wasn’t an easy journey but one worth going through. And I’m just getting started…
